Hello world! I’m super excited to announce that some of my sisters in Christ will be occasionally featured on “The Blog”. I hope you enjoy “Morning Reflections” by my dear sister Patricia Taylor. ** insert round of applause**
“Here is the back story to something I wrote this morning. I’ve been in NYC with my mom
For the last 2 weeks and I haven’t been able to spend the quality time with God like I’m use to when I’m home. I also have my niece and nephew so they’ve been keeping me busy. Last evening I was like Lord, I miss you and I miss our time together so I asked Him to wake me up early so I could have that time before my mom and the kids woke up. And He did 🙌🏿

Remember when we were little girls how excited we would be counting down to a special day or event: birthdays, graduations, a 1st sleep over, a summer trip to the beach, or amusement park? Do you remember being so excited about some of these things, that you counted the days until it happened? Sometimes you couldn’t sleep or went to sleep really early so you could wake up and partake in that special day. Anyone else nostalgic? I am 🙂. I was wondering, are we like little children when it comes to the things of God?
Are we counting down the hours with excitement to be in His presence? Are we going to bed with Him on our minds anticipating what He has planned for us the next day? Are we joyful and elated to spend time in His WORD and in prayer? Or does life and life circumstances make it so we fit God into our schedules instead of fitting OUR schedules around God? When it comes to spending that necessary time with the Father are we happy about it? or is it apart of a mundane task?
I pray that Gods perfect will be done in each and everyone of your lives concerning the things of God. I pray that God gives you a fire that burns for Him. I pray that you become excited and/or more excited about spending time with Him and are able to carry His Holy Spirit with you throughout your daily tasks and circumstances. I pray we can all be like little girls again, less worried about life and it’s problem and just excited about that special day with Jesus, Amen. Everyday God gives us is a gift and therefore is a SPECIAL day we should be grateful and excited for.”

Thank you so much Patricia Taylor and thank you friends for reading. Please make sure to leave some of your reflections below. She would love to interact with you. May God bless your day and the rest of your week.

Thank you for sharing this with us Patricia. For the past year or so I haven’t been in the word like I was before. I had left my church and the ladies group I was in was falling apart even before I left. We were all going separate ways. I’ve been in this period for a week now where I truly miss being in the word. But I still don’t get excited. Maybe it’s because it feels like work and I know I need to be in his word daily. Maybe it’s because I’m lost and trying to find the “right” reading plan. I overthink and often feel like I am missing so much when I read. I want to be excited to get into God’s word again.

Hi Tiffany,
I was once in a place where reading Gods word felt like work, like a chore. I felt guilty every time I didn’t do it. Prayer helped me as did my willing heart.
Here is what I know Tiffany, God loves you and He knows your heart. Don’t beat yourself up and continue to ask God for what you need. It sounds like it’s been a tough year for you. It also sounds like you having a willing heart & desire to know more about Jesus.
Maybe, right before trying to figure out what to read pray and ask God for guidance. Do you have a favorite scripture? If so, read that scripture or verse daily until it gets into your heart or until God shows you what else to read. If this helps, here are some of my favorites scriptures.
1 John 5:13-15
James 1:1-4
Ephesians 6:10-18
Galatians 5:1
Be encouraged Tiffany. I believe you will fine your Rhythm. 🙂

This was awesome….I’ve been busy with the cares of life also so I had to repent because I had been very off my schedule when it comes to spending time God’s presence….This is a beautiful reminder of how we need to spend time with God, and be excited about it….Thanks

This is an eye opener. Sometimes I fit my schedule into God’s Sheffield instead of vice versa. Lord Help me to be red hot for you and be super excited to spend the day with you.

Patricia, thank you for being an obedient Soldier in God’s Army! You’re on point! I need to spend MORE time with God instead of compartmentalizing Him where I can ‘fit Him into my day’! God is a patient God, but I know better so I have to do better!!! Thank You for this reminder ‘snack’ that I need to get back to eating healthier in God’s Divine Word!!! 🙏🏾 Praises belong to God 🙌🏾!!!
