The Well

I wasn’t planning on writing a blog post this morning, especially since I have two sitting in draft waiting to be published. But apparently other plans were in the works so here, I write.

Ladies, I woke up at 5am just feeling overwhelmed with all the tasks that this week and future weeks hold. Bombarded with all the responsibility, expectations, and tasks I must complete for everyday life. It just all came rushing in like a tsunami; work, holidays, family, Blossoming Me, quiet time, ministry, relationships, health, life planning, you name it.

As I lay in bed thinking, trying to clear my brain enough to fall back asleep, I began to pray. I needed more. I then began to drink from The Well. As I sat there trying to quench my thirsty soul I began to feel hydrated. It took a little bit of time but I arrived. Peace met me.

Life can be so weighty at times. Thinking about all that is going on and all that we need to do can be overwhelming. The hustle and bustle is real.

I write this tearing up because I am so grateful for Gods comfort in this moment. We were never meant to carry the weight or the burden. Our bodies were not designed for that kind of load.

I love this verse of Matthew 11:29 in the amplified version best: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS.”

I assure you that your Heavenly Father is concerned about everything that relates to you. He provides a comfort, an assurance, and the peace this world so consistently tries to take away.

My hope for you as you read this, is that you remember to look up and not around. So much is going on around us; not to mention in our own lives, that it can be hard to find the surface.

My prayer for you is that you will keep your eyes on Him, the One who keeps you in perfect peace.

“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3-4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

If you get a chance, check out this song entitled “Perfect Peace” by Tauren Wells! It talks about how as we bring our needs to God and surrender it all to Him, He will keep us in perfect peace. I hope you enjoy the song as much as I did. Also, I would love to hear from you, please leave a comment.
